Trip details
Bullseye Snakehead are an introduced species here in South East Florida. Their aggressive behavior, explosive strikes, and rod breaking strength are quickly earning them the title of “The Gamefish Of The Future”. If you’re after one of the most challenging and aggressive freshwater fish in North America, this trip is most definitely for you. Targeting these fish can be very challenging as they are extremely smart, very observant, and have acute senses to detect potential prey & predators. We primarily target snakehead with casting gear, and top water frogs, but there are a variety of techniques and lures we employ to trick these sneaky fish. I highly recommend being proficient with using a baitcaster before engaging in this trip, but I can accommodate anyone that prefers spinning tackle. The world record bullseye snakehead is over 15 pounds, but landing a double digit is rare due to how smart these fish are. A 2 - 3 pound snakehead can put up a fight like a largemouth bass twice its size, which makes catching almost any snakehead extremely exciting. Accurate casting and patience are needed to target these snakehead, so expect a learning curve if this is your first time snakehead fishing. I will guide and coach you every step of the way to provide the best chance of landing these beautiful, elusive, and unique fish. Due to how challenging it can be to target snakeheads, the minimum trip duration is 6 hours to give you the best chance of success
